Compunetix EVERGREEN is a reliable, feature-rich, and interoperable video conferencing platform. The EVERGREEN family of powerful video communication and collaboration platforms has been carefully cultivated to fulfill the diverse video and security needs of enterprise users, Conferencing Service Providers (CSPs), and government agencies.
Compunetix is pleased to announce the latest release of platform software that brings enhancements to both the EVERGREEN platform, as well as to its Companion Web browser client.
What’s new in version 5.16.0.0:
New platform capabilities have been added to EVERGREEN to extend functionality, enhance security, and to improve the overall connected user experience.
These include the ability for meeting hosts to securely lock a conference to prevent unauthorized endpoints from accessing the session or being mistakenly transferred into a conference by an operator. Conference lock is accompanied by a set of audio and text messages along with a graphical lock icon to inform all participants and those attempting to join the call that the conference is locked.
Additional video panel layouts have been added in this release to display up to 36 participants in a wide variety of formats of large, small, and equal size video windows. For those layouts in which all panels are not fully populated, customized panel logos can be enabled on a per conference basis which are particularly pleasing whenever the EVERGREEN is used to host Investor Relations (IR) or corporate Annual General Meeting (AGM) sessions. Furthermore, enhancements have been added to both verbal and text Question and Answer (Q&A) sessions which are often used in IR and AGM events.
Several “behind the scenes” enhancements have also been added to the EVERGREEN. These include constant monitoring of network conditions to automatically adjust to any changes in network quality and to dynamically adjust bandwidth, resolution, and frame rate to optimize the user experience. Improvements have also been made to increase frame rate and video switching speeds between layout changes or voice activated video panel switching. Some interoperability improvements and SIP URL dialing support have been added to support greater device connectivity.
Compunetix’ Companion Web (WebRTC client) has become the client of choice in recent years for use with the EVERGREEN. To further improve that experience, several new features have been added.
Companion Web is often used to share data content during a meeting. With this latest release, the Companion Web user has the option to dynamically select whether this data is presented with a sharpness preference (for slides, images, and documents) or a motion preference (for sharing video clips and animations). Further, when sharing video content, the Companion Web user has the option to play the audio associated with the video clip, their own audio or a mix of both to narrate the presentation.
The new release also allows Companion Web users to further control how they present themselves to others in a meeting. This includes the ability for them to select their own customized video mute image (for example a stock photo of themselves), to selectively blur their background or to replace the area behind them with their own customized background.
Finally, for Companion Web users connecting on a mobile device, enhancements have been made to the user interface to make better use of their more limited display area by giving them the option to “fit or fill” their display space as well as to dynamically hide or move the control icons.
