Michigan Assessors Association (MAA)
Compunetix is exhibiting at two upcoming industry events this month. The Michigan Assessors Association (MAA) is an organization that works to improve the standards of assessment practice, to provide a clearing house for the collection and distribution of useful information relative to assessment practice, and to promote justice and equality in the distribution of the tax burden. Jamie Verble, Director of Channels, will be representing Compunetix at MAA’s annual summer conference in Bellaire, Michigan, August 14 – 17, 2022. Stop by and check out our exhibition booth!
This year’s event marks the MAA’s 50th Annual Conference. Attendees will experience educational courses centering around the management of assessing offices and negotiating assessment appeals. The annual conference is also an exceptional opportunity network with colleagues and meet with vendors.
Compunetix recently created an effective and efficient means of conducting remote property tax hearings for Travis Central Appraisal District (TCAD) in Texas. To replicate their 40+ brick and mortar hearing rooms, this customized solution enables property owners, property agents, and Tax Board Members to easily join and hold hearings remotely. This custom solution also manages 98% of incoming phone calls, relieving office administrators from answering thousands of phone calls while also minimizing wait times and the frequency of human error. Lastly, TCAD has more flexibility than ever to handle a busy appraisal season. What was originally meant as a temporary solution during the pandemic has greatly enhanced the overall appraisal hearing workflow in Travis County.
Some key elements that made the solution easily adoptable by TCAD:
- The cloud deployment option minimized budget constraints and maximized deployment speed
- Recording and automatic recording archival is available, saving an incredible amount of time and energy
- Recordings are automatically labeled by individual property tax ID numbers, rather than random conference IDs
- Browser-based GUI enables seamless oversight and support of all active and scheduled hearings by designated staff
- While no other collaboration solution was able to meet all the needs for the district, the Compunetix ConferenceManager solution was easily customized to meet the needs of TCAD
The National Association of State Technology Directors (NASTD)
Later this month, Jeff Lautenschlager, Senior Account Executive, and Jamie Verble, Director of Channels, will be representing Compunetix at the National Association of State Technology Directors (NASTD) 2022 Annual Conference in Seattle, Washington, August 28 – September 1, 2022.
Compunetix is a long-time member of the NASTD, a member-driven organization whose purpose is to advance and promote the effective use of information technology and services to improve the operation of State government. Through extensive networking and shared documents, data, and experience, NASTD membership gives state IT professionals a significant advantage as they tackle the challenges of today’s technology world.
We have numerous documented successes providing solutions for state government agencies. For the most part, State agencies are not associated with rapid technology adoption; they face unique challenges when modernizing their communication and collaboration systems. From budget constraints to working with legacy systems, modernization can be both costly and time consuming. Compunetix solutions help state agencies digitize services, improve security, implement new service delivery models, respond and adapt to crises, and much more.
