NBC Nightly News recently did a feature on North American Aerospace Defense Command’s (NORAD) mission to protect Arctic airspace in response to an increasing amount of Russian aircraft approaching US airspace. In the two part video series, NBC News’ Kevin Tibbles speaks to service members about their mission and making NORAD’s presence known in the Arctic. Since Compunetix equipment is used as the backbone of both the US and Canadian Air Force mission communications systems, several Compunetix CDI-22 II consoles are featured in the main ops floor throughout the videos from Joint Base Elmendorf–Richardson in Anchorage, Alaska.
