CONTEX Presenter Capabilities and Integration

December 19th, 2008

Predating the CONTEX Summit’s recently announced web conferencing integration with WebEx, IBM/Unyte and MS Live Meeting, Compunetix completed it’s first bundled audio/web conferencing integration with our own CONTEX Presenter Online Collaboration tool.

CONTEX Presenter, initially developed in 2006, is an exceptionally clean and uncluttered web and data sharing application that can be purchased and managed in-house by Conference Service Providers (CSP) and Enterprise customers alike.  It features the most important online collaboration tools, such as application and desktop sharing, whiteboarding, unified roster, audio controls, conference recording, annotations, all in an easy-to-use package that is lightweight and firewall-friendly.

Compunetix Rewards Employee Voters

November 3rd, 2008

Compunetix is, once again, encouraging employees to “Get out the Vote.” in Monroeville, PA.  This program initially began in 2006 during the last general election, and it provides all employees who present evidence that they have voted with 4 hours of PTO (Paid Time Off).  All 400 employees of three Monroeville based businesses - Compunetix, Chorus Call and Compunetics - are eligible for the perk.

The non-partisan program for employees is not associated with any specific political dogma other than good citizenship. “We do not care whom they vote for, just that they vote,” Dr. Coraluppi, president of the three companies, explains. “We want to eliminate any barriers to the voting process.”

For those of you new to the space, Mobile Groups is a java-based application for mobile handsets that allows you to leverage the phone’s internal directory to pull up, tag contacts and initiate a group call.  It makes multipoint conference calls a breeze, and enables group communication from a mobile device like no other solution.

This application can be ported for deployment on most any java-enabled handsets, and utilizes the mobile network’s GPRS (data) connection to a CONTEX media processor for hosting the collaboration call.

Compunetix Welcomes Sonexis

August 20th, 2008

Compunetix continues to execute on its strategic vision of expanding the options available to our collaboration platform clients.

Earlier this week, Compunetix announced the formation of a new subsidiary to acquire the assets to Sonexis, Inc.  This agreement expands the solution toolbox for all Compunetix platform customers, and provides a solution path for service providers eager to embrace managed services.

Rest assured that the Compunetix Communications Systems Division (CSD) remains unchanged, and maintains its focus and dedication to the collaboration service provider market segment.  Our research and devlopment efforts for our CONTEX Summit™ and CONTEX® 240/480 platforms is ongoing and on track. In addition, we feel that this new corporate addition will provide us and our customers yet another option for seeking out, acquiring and maintaining enterprise clients.

Sonexis, formed in 2001, is a leading provider of enterprise customer premise conferencing platforms.  Its ConferenceManager™ product, an integrated audio/web conferencing server for on-network collaboration sessions, is widely deployed domestically across a variety of enterprise market segments.  These products are fully IP-enabled for VoIP configurations and are sold primarily through reseller channels.

The new Sonexis organization will continue its penetration into the CPE market while working strategically with CSD to provide new solutions for CSP customer retention, seamless service rollover, and additional revenue streams.

In addition, Compunetix will leverage its engineering and manufacturing expertise to further enhance and prepare the Sonexis line for new markets, such as the growing international segment, mission-oriented installations, and “CPE with a service-wrap” offerings.

This acquisition represents a classic win-win for all involved parties. CSD and Sonexis efforts balance one another; each having deep access into related market segments and each producing complementary products that will provide opportunities for enhanced business.

More Conferencing Integration - Cisco/WebEx

August 5th, 2008

Following in the footsteps of the previous post, we going to try a second movie/demo that we created that highlights some of the feature functionality in Compunetix’ recently announced integration with the Cisco/Webex web conferencing service.

Similar to the work done with IBM for their Lotus/Sametime/Unyte service, this WebEx software adapter allows CONTEX Summit customers to integrate their audio services with the hosted WebEx service. Within the WebEx nterface, users are able to initiate their sessions and connect all audio participants. They can then use the interface controls to start recording, mute and unmute participant audio, breakdown the conference and even have on-screen talker indication.
